Exorcist Believer was a typically David Gordon Green mess of good, bad, and under-baked ideas.

That ending though? When paired with the, “Show me Regan’s double, same face, same voice,” scene from the original? Chris who’s lost the dream of ever seeing Regan’s face again? Who hasn’t heard her daughter’s voice in years, if not decades?

“Same face, same voice, everything, and I’d know it wasn’t Regan.”

Chris who won’t ever see Regan’s face again, and has had a few issues recently with people changing voices on her. Who hasn’t been called ‘Mom’ in however many years, but knows instantly that her kid’s returned to her. Chris who hasn’t hugged Regan in forever, but never doubts for a second that it’s her kid holding her after all that time. Chris who probably spends a long time after the screen cuts to black tracing Regan’s features, ‘seeing’ her again the best way she can, learning how Regan’s face has changed, new scars and wrinkles, but still certain it’s the face of that same 12 year old she used to be so close to, so easily affectionate with? Chris feeling Regan smile underneath her fingers after all that time?

Green is a mess, as per usual, but points for that ending

PEGGY CARTER & ANGIE MARTINELLI

Hey yo TLOU: Tess + "Ronan"

Hahahahahha, sadist.

So, for those not in the know, Ronan is actually, legitimately the most depressing song Taylor Swift ever wrote. I mean it’s good, it’s beautiful but also…it’s about a real life little boy who passed away from cancer, based on the real life posts his mother made about his life and their relationship.

So…I mean…

My first thought, honestly is Joel and Tess both with dead children in a modern au, and literally the last person they want to talk to is another person with a dead child. No, we’re not sharing our pain or bonding over the horrible club we’re in, no, I don’t even want grief sex from this person, just, no, stay away, far away, I have enough of my own shit without dealing with yours.

Tess who eh, you brought this torture up, there’s the unused backstory for the show, we’ll just go with cancer, a little boy who spent far too much of a shot life being sick. Fought like no adult should ever have to, let alone a baby. She had years to prepare, she got to say goodbye, but it didn’t help.

Joel by contrast who had an older kid than Tess, a daughter who died in a stupid af accident that happened on the bus ride to a soccer tournament. Should’ve driven her himself but couldn’t, had to work that day, he was gonna meet her at the game later. But later never came and she died on the side of the road, without him, because he was more worried about an extra few hundred bucks than keeping his kid safe.

Joel and Tess and opposite versions of the same pain who want nothing to do with each other…except they find each other anyway because they’re my OTP and that’s what happens.

Decided to give animation another try. I kept it simple to stop myself from overwhelming myself with a ridiculous work load. It’s a bit scuffed in places but for amateur work, I’m pretty happy with it! I hope you guys enjoy it too ❤️
